MASSAGE Massage is effective in treating the muscle tightness that can develop from static positions (posture) at work or through exercise. This tightness restricts efficient movement and can impair performance and increase the risk of injury. Massage is able to release trigger points, reduce connective tissue tightness and improve the removal of waste products from the muscle which other techniques such as stretching can not do as effectively. As part of a complete training program massage is used both as treatment and prevention, with regularity sessions based on how intense your training is (high mileage, high intensity) or the types of session (track work or heavy weights) may require a massage every week or once a month may be more than enough. Many professionals will be massaged daily or after each session (perhaps more than is required, but nice for them). |
